Dip Pens & Ink

This workshop looks at the different marks and lines that can be
achieved with an artists dip pen, from delicate cross-hatching to bold splashy strokes.  The
tutor (a calligrapher) will guide you through the types of ink available from art suppliers and
the different properties they have for sketching, drawing and writing.  There will also be a
chance to make your own DIY nib to create expressive, inky lines

Tutor Biog:
Gwyneth Hibbett is a professional calligrapher who enjoys creating hand-lettered artwork.
Her work has been shown in national calligraphy shows and travelling exhibitions
nationwide. Her clients include several London Livery Companies, the Metropolitan Police,
national charities and Universities
Gwyneth holds National Diplomas in Calligraphy and has completed a 3 year Advanced
Training Scheme. She has been recognised as an accredited calligraphy tutor since 2018,
teaching in one-to-one lessons, group sessions, adult education classes, schools and
workshops.
She is an active member of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators, the Calligraphy &
Lettering Arts Society, Letter Exchange, South London Lettering Association and the Barnet
Guild of Artists.
